I loved everything about these blogs. The authors have been honest to the core. So much so, that reading these posts was like a peek into their daily lives, most intimate thoughts, worries and insecurities. You could rejoice in their happiness and tear-up in their pain. I have browsed so many blogs since, but didn't find one as good or as honest!! Life's keeping these author's busy, for sure, since none of these are posting any longer. I miss reading them.
Then there is Baradwaj Rangan - a movie reviewer par excellence. B Rangan reviews every movie for what it is...not what it should be or could have been! Even movies like Shortcut Romeo are reviewed with a reverence. I don't want to call B Rangan a critic, coz that would put him in the same category as the other run-of-the-mill critics. This site is a must read every Monday for an impartial unbiased review of the latest release.
The girls authoring this site are super duper witty. Every post is a hilarious gem. I am guessing both the girls hold down day jobs and so the posts are infrequent. But definitely worth the wait.
I stumbled upon the below two sites accidentally and have been a lurker ever since. My life and what I do is far removed from fashion and even more so from vintage. And yet my net browsing isn't complete without a quick look-see at these sites.
What can I say about this amazing site??!! This site exposes the underbelly of fashion, fashionistas and "high" society. It's one site that is not afraid to write the truth. Recently, the site and its owner Jack have been targeted by unscrupulous bas****s. All the sites' readers stand by Jack and FS.
Here's to you, Jack. If you decide to stop writing, we will understand. But, if you choose to continue, then May the Force be with you. Let us know what you would like your readers to do, that may in some measure alleviate your troubles.
Enjoy these sites, folks. They are worth your time and attention!!
After a very long time, enjoyed a cool peaceful weekend. Last two weekends, I had ambitiously decided to welcome carpenters into the home - had a huge backlog of wood work.....three precious holidays were sacrificed at the altar of housekeeping!! While carpenters took over rest of the home, we lived, ate, studied, watched TV and slept in one bedroom!! But the end result was worth the pain and home is now as good as new!! This weekend the weather was far from humid...it was cool, light and breezy. Perfect for a laid back day filled with endless chats....Mom-in-law's visiting, so she had a lot of tales to share .....I even managed three hour snooze on Sunday... Exams start this week & go on right up to the 22nd... Dear Lord, waiting for the exams to end....
Next month we have a trip planned to Dubai…Daughter and I fly to Dubai. My leave is sanctioned and daughter has her vacations...our tickets and visas are in. Dubai in May…here we come!! Don't know how hot it’s going to be but don’t really have a choice. Since last November, the husband has been dividing his time between Dubai and Mumbai. Since having moved to Dubai he has been down here quite a few times but we haven't gone there - thanks to work and school schedules. Now that vacations have started, I’ve got my leave sanctioned and Dubai planning is well on its way!! We've drawn up the lists - of all the things that we need to buy - stuff that we will need in Dubai....got all the basics covered. Everyday after lunch, daughter calls me up…..”Let’s plan for Dubai”….And then for the next 10 minutes (before I cajole her to take a nap) we go over the same plan every single day…!! This is our third overseas trip as a family. Singapore came first, followed by US last year and Dubai this year...Plans for next year...Europe!! Honestly, I love travel and daughter loves it too. She makes for an amazing travel partner. No cribs, tantrums, nothing...no matter what the situation she's always willing to go with the flow. During or US trip, we ate whatever we were served…on most days it was scrambled eggs/ spiced potato. She didn’t seem to mind it at all…finishing her breakfast with a flourish and readying herself for the touristy day ahead!! The attitude makes me happy!! Touchwood!! This time since it’s a morning flight, we’ve already planned to not eat anything at home but head straight to airport, complete check-in, immigration, etc and then head straight to a breakfast place. Have tea and croissants, maybe a sandwich. Given that we would reach way ahead of the boarding time, there will enough time to stroll around. We’ll buy books for me and her to read; coloring material, small toys maybe - then stuff it all in the carry on and proceed to boarding….. This time, I will not only take a lot of photos but will ensure that I upload it to the blog too. And I will blog every single day. Every. Single. Day. I have promised myself to breathe life back into this blog!!! And finally it’s weekend !!
Promises and more....I so want to blog everyday...but just can't get myself to do it after a long tiring day at work!! Wonder if I should sneak in a little blog time at work!!! Now wouldn't that be fun....!! To keep the blog going, this is what I have now decided...till date I blogged about random happenings...Now how about I treat my blog as a dear diary and write every night? Tall Order...and one that I won't match up to...But what the heck...I'll take it up as a challenge and definitely post every day...even if just have two lines to say...good night and sleep tight or good morning and have a great day!!
